株洲旅游概况
　株洲，位于湖南省东部，湘江中游，北望武汉，南瞰广州，东接赣、浙、沪，西临云、贵、川，是湖南“长、株、潭”金三角的重要组成部分，是湖南对外开放重点发展之“一点一线”经济带的重要一环。全市总面积1.14万平方公里，其中城区60平方公里，全市总人口370万。
株洲是一块古老而神奇的土地，中华民族古老的文明在这里孕育、发展和辉煌。华夏始祖炎帝神农氏在这里种五谷、尝百草、始作耒耜、教人耕种，创造了中华民族文明之源的农耕文化，将中华民族的“根”定格在五千年前的“茶乡之尾鹿原陂”。由江泽民同志亲笔题款的炎帝陵，被誉为“神州第一陵”，现已成为炎黄子孙寻根谒祖的圣地、全国重点文物保护单位和爱国主义教育基地、国家AAAA旅游景区。　　
　　株洲是一方原始而秀美的净土，幽深无垠的原始森林、鬼斧神工的天然溶洞、流光溢彩的迷人山水，显示出大自然无穷魅力。“天下第一秀”桃源洞国家森林公园，让游客感受纯真古朴、神秘奇险的原始生态风貌。集大型山湖、溶洞、地热资源于一体的酒埠江国家地质公园是大中城市休闲度假的“后花园”。此外，国家AAA旅游景区大京风景区、云阳山国家森林公园等也是旅游的好去处。
　　株洲，一处英雄而光荣的圣地，中国革命的星星之火在这里点燃、延烧、照亮中华大地。毛泽东和朱德、陈毅、彭德怀等老一辈革命家在这里进行了一系列首创性的重大革命实践，为中国革命胜利打下了坚实基础。朱、毛第一次会面、第一次把党支部建在连队、第一次实行根据地插牌分田、井冈山革命根据地第一个县级红色政权—茶陵县工农兵政府纪念地和保存完好的红军标语群已成为革命传统教育的生动教材，纳入进全国30条红色旅游精品线路之一。

　　Zhuzhou is located in the eastern part of Hunan Province and the middle reaches of Xiangjiang River. It faces Wuhan in the north, overlooks Guang zhou in the south, connects with Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Shanghai in the east, and links up with Yunan, Guizhou and Schuan in the west. It plays an important part in the golden triangle of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtang. Zhuzhou municipality with a total area of 11,400 square kms, of which 60 square kms is the city proper, has a population of 3.7 million.
Zhuzhou, a piece of old and mysterious land, has witnessed the birth, development and flourish of the earliest Chinese civilization. According to the historical records, Emperor Yandi (Shen Nong), who is the first ancestor of the Chinese nation, introduced the growth of grains and medicine to the people by tasting hundreds of weeds, invented the farming culture which is the source of the Chinese civilization and located the root of Chinese nation at Luyuan Slope, which was called the home of tea five thousand years ago. Emperor Yandi Mausoleum whose tombstone was inscribed by President Jian Zemin enjoys the fame of No.1 Mausoleum in China. It has become the sacred place for all the descendants of Emperor Yandi and Huangdi in the world to seek roots and pay homage to their earliest ancestor, and the state Preservation Unit of Key Historical Relics and a demonstration base of national patriotism education and an AAAA state scenic area.
Zhuzhou, a piece of primitive and wonderful land, has fully revealed the boundless glamour to the people with its broad and dense primeval forests, unique natural Park, with its verdant vegetation, clear mountain springs and fresh air, caves, powerful waterfalls, fresh oxygen and beautiful landscapes. Taoyuan Cave State Forest arouses visitors the sensation from the flavor of the primitive, natural and mysterious ecology. Besides, Liling Xishang Mountain, Dajing Scenic Spot, Kongzhou Islet and Youxian Jiubujiang Tourist Spot with the integration of large mountains, lakes, karst caves and resources of subterranean heat is the Rear-area Park for large and medium-sized cities. Zhuzhou, a piece of heroic and glorious holy land, has started, spread and shone the revolutionary spark all over China. A generation of great men such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Cheng Yi and Pen Dehuai, etc. initiated a series of important revolutionary practices and laid a solid foundation for the victory of Chinese revolution. It is here that Zhu De and Mao Zedong had their first meeting and that the CPC Committee was first set up at and above the army company level; and it’s also here that the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base was established, which has become the commemorative place to the Chaling County Worker-Peasant-Soldier Government, along with which the perfectly preserved 300 slogans by the Red Army have served as vivid and instructive reference for the education on the revolutionary glories, and one of the 30 national revolutionary history tour routes.
Zhuzhou, a fashionable and glamorous city, has marked the glowing of the most advanced technology of human civilization. It is here that we have given birth to 50“First in China” such as the first batch of Amu-11pisten rod aero engines and the first heavy-duty motorcycle engine, the first air-to-air missile, the first electric locomotive and so on.
